A Taste of Ireland

This morning before heading on from Cork we visited the English Market at Avril's suggestion. It was very much a mini version of our Central Market in Adelaide but not as noisy or smelly and one end was quite ornate with a cafe on a mezzanine level. We bought some cheese, bread and salami, all made in Cork, which we enjoyed on our travels.
Did I mention how welcoming our B&B hosts were yesterday. Well they maintained the same level of warmth and helpfulness throughout our stay. Quite remarkable that they consistently used our names and did the same for all the other guests of which there were at least 7 couples.

Our plans for today's travels changed and tomorrow's will too after getting helpful advice from Tony. We were originally going to travel the ring of Kerry tomorrow but due to its commercialism and overwhelming popularity we opted for the Beara Peninsula today and are now planning the Dingle Peninsula tomorrow. Today we were treated to the rugged beauty of the Caha Mountains and the Healy Pass which cuts through them offered stark and unique scenery with views over Bantry Bay as we rounded many of the hair pin bends. Driving is definitely not for the faint hearted as the road was narrow and only occasionally offered pull over places. Long haired sheep were also in abundance and were free to roam.
